Britain's Got Talent, but does it have taste?

Full disclosure time, I was pulling for Susan Boyle! I was sold the second I saw her breakout YouTube video on Workingclass Conservative's blog. Her story was so compelling. She was a virtual unknown and clearly not part of the in crowd. When she took the stage, everyone from the judges to the audience were ready to dismiss her, because she did not meet all the important superficial criteria of today. Within seconds of her first notes, everyone was eating a giant piece of humble pie, because Susan had the chops! Substance triumphed over form!

Sadly, form would have its way over substance once again. For the 2009 winner of Britain's Got Talent, Britain chose the group Diversity. Not to take anything away from Diversity, their little Transformers routine is pretty slick. But for anyone who rides the NYC subways regularly, acts like theirs are a dime a dozen and done on crowded platforms during rush hour too!

Perhaps it was Susan's failure to sing something new for her final performance, or maybe it was all that nonsense about her f-bomb. Whatever the case maybe, she was head and shoulders above the rest (bare-bellied Greek dancers and crying kids, oh please).

The bright side to all of this, is that Susan Boyle will be bigger in defeat than Diversity will be in victory. Much like Clay Aikens, she will be in hot demand long after everyone has forgotten who Diversity was. By the way, has anyone seen Ruben Studdard?

Pravda calls out our socialist UPDATED

Never in my wildest nighmares, did I ever imagine the day when Pravda would paint an accurate picture of America. Pravda use to be one of the official mouth pieces of the old Soviet Union, much like the New York Times is the mouth piece for the DNC today. Check this out and tell me if they got it right:

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

The entire article is a must read. Now I am begining to wonder if that Russian professor was right last year when he suggested that America would split up in 2010.

UPDATE

It has been brought to my attention by one of the commenters (Count Busy), that the author of the Pravda piece is actually a blogger named Stanislav Mishin. His blog can be found here and the original April post can be found here. Spread a little linkage and check him out.

Black Panthers get a free pass

So is this what Obama means by more "empathy" in our legal system? If you recall, these three New Black Panther Party members were intimidating white voters in PA during the election. Well it appears that the Obama Justice Department (paging Mr. Holder) has dropped the charges brought against them during the Bush Administration.

Over at
Atlas Shrugged, you can see all kinds of hate groups that supported the Obama campaign. Hope and changes, kind of has a gestapo feel to it, don't you think?

Quantity vs. Quality

Today at RedState I ran across a blog post by Senator John Cornyn ( Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, NRSC). It was a mass of contradictions that is so typical of the GOP leadership today. Here is an excerpt:

Some believe that we should be a monolithic Party; I disagree. While we all might wish for a Party comprised only of people who agree with us 100 percent of the time, this is a pipedream. Each Party is fundamentally a coalition of individuals rallying around core principles with some variations along the way.

This is a strawman argument if ever there was one. First of all, who Mr. Cornyn is saying the GOP needs to be a monolithic party? Most just want members who actually stand on principles especially those members at the top. I for one do not mind moderates in the party, I just mind them running the show.
Now look at this contradiction (emphasis added):

As a Party, we were stunned. Having failed to anticipate shifting national dynamics and the growing appetite for change in America, we lost critical voting constituencies including independents, Hispanics, and young voters nationwide

He then goes on a few paragraphs later to describe Marco Rubio as such:

Earlier this month, two Republicans candidates emerged for the open Senate seat being vacated by Mel Martinez in the Sunshine State: Marco Rubio, the young and talented Hispanic former Speaker of the state House, and Charlie Crist, the state’s popular Governor.
So we lost "Hispanic and young voters", which we must get back. However, we do have a "young and talented Hispanic candidate"! So why in Gods name does Cornyn and the NRSC support an old RINO like Charlie Crist? I will tell you why, Cornyn is playing the numbers game. Basically, what NRSC wants us conservatives to do is to sit back, shut up and vote for as many Republicans as we can, principles be damned.

This is the classic argument of quantity vs. quality. Sure, we can make up for those losses in the House and Senate. But what good would it do if on every important issue, several of them jump ship and vote with the Democrats? We had control of all three houses, but what did we do with it? Did we get Social Security reform? Did we reform the IRS? Did we shrink government and cut back spending? No, we did not and why? Because too many of our own people were clueless about conservative principles.

When the GOP rebuilds, it needs to be rebuilt with quality candidates. When the Democrats are through bringing their 40 year old wish list to life, we will need strong principled people just to bring back America to anything close to what it use to be. This certainly won't happen with a large pack of unprincipled, spineless, big government loving RINOs.
The only way the John Cornyns, McCains, Powells and Specters of the party are ever going to hear us, is when we starve them to death by withholding our cash and votes.

Sotomayor and Race

Since being announced Tuesday, Judge Sonia Sotomayor has come under attack by conservatives and Republicans for being racist. At the crux of the argument is this statement:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life,”

Judge Sotomayor made this statement while giving a speech at the Judge Mario G. Olmos Memorial Lecture at Berkeley School of Law, back in 2001 (the full text of that speech can be found here). Newt Gingrich, Rep. Tom Tancredo, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter have all labeled the statement racist (click links for their individual statements).

OK, here is my take on it. When the statement is taken out of the whole speech, it is racist. A white person would be hung out to dry in five seconds flat for saying anything like it. If our goal is truly to become a color blind society, then the rules must apply across the board, no exceptions. Far too many minorities today get away with saying some of the most racist things against white people. I find this hypocritical in the extreme. How can minorities complain about racism from whites and then totally turn a blind eye when one of their own is caught out there being a racist. Sooner or later this behavior has to stop or we can forget about ever being a color blind society.

Now, when you read the entire speech, you get a different picture of Sotomayor. The picture that emerges is not one of a racist, but a picture of someone who seems to admit that her race and gender colors her legal opinions. This is not a good thing. Our Constitutional Republic demands rule of law. It demands clearly defined laws with clearly definited out comes. How can any of us have faith in our legal system, if we all need to be latinas in order to understand the decisions rendered by it?

Clearly Obama got what he wanted here when he went shopping for empathy. Now the question to ask is why does Obama feel that our highest court requires the uncertainty that empathy brings?

Move over Letterman & Leno, here comes Biden!

If Obama took Biden aside for his joke about Valerie Jarrett, then he is going to kick Biden's ass for this one! Doesn't poor Old Joe know that Obama and his handlers are sensitive about the whole teleprompter thingy? I had suggested in an earlier post that Biden should get a teleprompter, to save himself from all those gaffs. I guess I was wrong, nothing can help poor Joe.

What is kind of funny, is that not too long ago, I read an article that late night comics were having trouble coming up with joke about Obama. I thought, my God are they blind? What about the teleprompter! Jeeez, there is already a very successful blog devoted to TOTUS! Perhaps they should consult Old Joe for material, he doesn't seem to have a problem finding any.

If it was for the fact that Joe Biden is a heartbeat away from the presidency, he would be the perfect comic relief for the four year tragedy we face.

This is one of Obama's freshman photos from Occidental College, by photographer Lisa Jack. It is just begging for a caption. Have at it!

Patriots In Aprons

Today while visiting my follower's blogs, I came across this blog, Patriots In Aprons, started by Old Centennial Farmhouse. I am all for grassroots efforts to beat back the march to socialism. Since the MSM on JournoList decided that Tea Parties were an astrotruf effort, I think that this blog does a fine job at destroying this myth.

Here is what they are about.

Hello and welcome to a place on the web where patriotic women can unite in tying their apron strings, using the apron as a signal of strength and determination like our mothers and grandmothers and great-grandmothers shared. We tie on our aprons and share their admiration and respect for the document that is sacred to us all: The Constitution.

*We are, among other patriots, a group of women dedicated to the idea that Nancy Pelosi could not be more wrong: The Tea Party movement is not a group of "AstroTurf" protesters or whiny rich people. We are instead, a grassroots group of ordinary, freedom loving Americans.

*In particular those of us on "Patriots in Aprons" are women who believe in the basic foundations of this country and we value our country's history, revere the forefathers, our founding documents, God and country, home and family.

*We recognize our own value as caretakers of our homes and families. We know that we have a job to train and educate the next generation and their children about our country's history and its unique heritage. We care very much about the issues facing our country today and our ability to find our voice and show up in the protests and become active participants as "women in aprons" who are speaking out against this out-of-control, overreaching government.

*This is a place to introduce yourself, and submit a photo of yourself in an apron, with your own words that you would have written on a posterboard to show your protest. You did not have to attend a tea party on April 15 to join.

Submit photos of yourself, your daughters, your mothers, grandmothers, or great grandmothers wearing their aprons, and we'll post those, too. It's important to remember the mothers who have gone before us. When we build a big enough file of apron-wearing patriots, we will make a YOUTUBE video.
*PLEASE EMAIL YOUR APRON PHOTO & your message as well as your first name and home state to: patriotsinaprons@gmail.com

*We know that we can make a difference as we make our voices heard: a strong group of women that enjoy their heritage and are proud to be "managers of their homes" because we feel we have a lot to contribute in--wisdom and knowledge--to the country we love so much.
*We will show up to the tea parties in the future wearing our aprons and speaking up for freedom. We realize the importance of what the apron stands for: in our nation's history and in our own family heritage. We recognize that an apron is a heartwarming symbol of nuturing, a love for family, and a symbol of home. It can also mean a woman willing to step out and fight on the homefront for her country's freedom.

My Thoughts on Sotomayor

Today Obama picked Judge Sonia Sotomayor to replace Supreme Court Justice Souter. Here are my thoughts on the Sotomayor

1. My earlier guesses on Obama's pick seems to have held up. Female - check, minority - check, radical - check. All the prerequisites are there. There maybe no better time for him to pick a super radical than now. Chances of getting her through confirmation...very good.

2. She is an activist alright! No doubt you have seen that YouTube video, if not check here.

3. Glenn Beck pointed out her racist remarks and her "empathy" flying in the face of the oath of SCOTUS. Nice points but with Democrats in the majority, expect all that to fall on deaf ears.

4. Regarding her slapping down a reverse discrimination case, expect that to go no where too. Democrats will fast track her appointment to make sure SCOTUS isn't dealing with it during her confirmation.

5. Best bet for Republicans to defeat her nomination? CHECK HER TAXES! She is an arrogant one, and arrogance and tax cheats go hand in hand. Americans will gloss over many of the arguments against her, but if she is Tax Cheat #8, that will stick and sink her.

6. Expect Democrats to beat back any legitimate Republican arguments with charges of racism and or sexism. Especially any charges of her qualifications or competence.

7. Sotomayor strikes me as someone who is too cute by half. She is in awe of herself and that makes her a very loose canon, even for Obama. If she is appointed, expect her to totally go off the reservation from time to time and vote by her own whims even if that flies in the face of liberal orthodoxy. This pick could actually bite Obama in the butt!

8. Obama's short list indicated that he was clearly shopping in the estrogen bin!

9. Timing is everything! The Sotomayor pick takes Obama's failures with North Korea and Iran off the front pages. Coincidence, methinks not.

Hope and Change won't work on these two

Yesterday, North Korea tested a nuclear device equivalent to the bombs that obliterated Hiroshima and Nagasaki. North Korea gave the US less than one hour notice that they were going to conduct this test. Also yesterday, Iran sent six war ships into international waters including the Gulf of Aden. In addition, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rejected a proposal to freeze his country's nuclear program. Clearly North Korea and Iran have not been moved by Hope and Change.

While the American media has done an excellent job, pulling he wool over Americans eyes in regards to Obama's capabilities, foreign nations have not been so easily duped. Obama's foreign policy has basically consisted of apology tours, kissing ass and ignoring growing treats. What is worse is that North Korea and Iran know this.

Obama's reaction has been to condemn North Korea's actions, call for international assistance and run to the UN (i.e. the same old song and dance). There has been no reaction to Iran as of yet that I could find. In the end, I suspect that North Korea is going to get us to submit to another useless and expensive "framework" and Iran will get their bomb. Why am I certain of this? Because, the only thing that will stop either of them is a military solution.

During the Bush Administration, with Bush's so called "cowboy diplomacy", his willingness to call them out as evil and his use of force on Iraq, neither North Korea or Iran were dissuaded from their goals. They may have tread a little slower but they certainly were not stopped. Obama's kinder gentler approach will certainly not stop them. Both North Korea and Iran know certain hard truths about Obama and America. Obama is an inexperienced executive. Obama and his party are more concerned about sticking their snouts in the trough of the treasury than dealing with foreign affairs. America is politically divided and will not fully back any military action. America is rapidly on its way to being broke and incapable of any prolong military campaigns.

North Korea and Iran know that the current situation is set at least until 2010 and if they are really lucky 2012. Therefore they will move with deliberate speed to achieve their nuclear ambitions, Hope and Change be damned.

The Tale of Two Women

I just got through watching several YouTube videos of Liz Cheney speaking out on EITs and her father's speech. She is strong. Liz Cheney knows her material cold. She doesn't allow liberals to play the games of shouting her down, distorting the facts or forcing her into a box with false arguments. She doesn't back down, she doesn't apologize and she certainly doesn't do that whole wimpy defensive crouch position favored by many GOP leaders today.
Liz Cheney is another example why I believe if the base wins the battle of the GOP, women will lead the way. When I am pressed to think of strong conservatives who are out there fighting the fight, women like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann and Liz Cheney come to mind. In addition, when I went to the Tea Party in NYC, women dominated the crowd. Many were housewives turn activists, if you will. Even here in the blogosphere, I see many women as the strongest voices out there.

Check out Liz's strong performance in this video. She handles Cooper Anderson sternly when he strays into revisionist history. She corrects the record and doesn't let him argue from the "feeling" perspective.

Now, compare and contrast the vacuous Meghan McCain on the Rachel Maddow show. With her Valley Girl voice (believe it or not she went to Columbia) she says the Republican party is too extreme. Never mind the fact that she never defines what "extreme" is. She never offers a single word in defense of Republican policies that she agrees with. She even admits that she has no clue about economics or economic policy, yet she knows what is wrong with the party! If this is what the Republican party needs to morph into, then count me out, I will be happy to help build a new party.

I think that it is high time the GOP base says loud and clear that twits like Meghan are not Republicans. They do not speak for us, they are clueless about conservative ideals. All they know is to duck, cover and wet their pants when challenge on their positions. They are completely wrong about what the problems are facing the party.

Time to take Colin Powell off my logo!

Today on Face The Nation, Colin Powell tells us he is still a Republican but;
  • He voted for Barak Obama and Jimmy Carter.
  • He listens to statistics quoted by Arlen Specter.
  • He knocks Rush Limbaugh.
  • He knocks Dick Cheney.
  • Believes Jack Kemp was for “spreading the wealth”.
  • Believes Gitmo should be closed to please other nations.
  • Favors bringing Gitmo prisoners to the US.
  • Believes the American people want bigger government.
Yeah, sure Colin, you’re a Republican, just like I am a white guy! Sorry Colin, but you are coming off my logo, because you’re wrong! Wrong about how to rebuild the party, wrong about Rush Limbaugh, wrong about Gitmo, wrong about Obama and wrong about everything a conservative believes in.

OK faithful readers, which black conservative would you like to see replace Powell in my logo?

The arrogance just keeps coming.

Lord have mercy, these are going to be four very long years if we have to endure such blatant arrogance from our politicians. If there is one thing that really chafes me it is the blistering in your face arrogance, the kind that comes from those who feel they are free to do as they please. I saw a lot of this when I worked on Wall Street. A lot of twenty somethings with big salaries and big titles. They thought that such things at their firms gave them prestige and that that prestige went with them wherever they roamed. Well, those Wall Street twenty somethings were mere rank amateurs when compared to the governing class infesting Washington today.

Three stories out today caught my eye for their arrogance. They are listed in order of their severity from least to most offensive.

The Barak Obama Show

Not satisfied with the fawning press coverage he already receives, the Obama Administration has taken it upon itseft to tell you and I was the important stories of the day is. They are bypassing the media a putting out their own edited versions of stories. While I support conservatives doing this while running for office to defeat a bias media, it is entirely something else once one is elected to office. The idea that an administration would think they could get away with edited and controlled press releases is simply arrogant!

Mr. Speed Reader goes to Washington

When people rightfully complained that Obama's $800 billion Porkulus package was passed without being read, lawmakers seem to have taken note but not in a good way. California Rep. Henry Waxman hired a speed reader to speed read the bloated and no doubt corrupt climate change bill. No doubt we paid for this slap in the face! Blank You, Henry Waxman you arrogant bastard! By the way, pay attention to Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX), he seems to be enjoying the circus and listen to the applause when the speed reader is announced! I wish I could fire the lot of em!

Next Topic!

Queen Pelosi is the Queen of Arrogance today. After dropping a flaming turd of lies last week about the CIA lying to Congress, Queen Pelosi stonewalls and completely refuses to answer any questions about her lies! It is a damn good thing for her that the media came out of the closet for the Democrats last year. If there was so much as one decent reporter left in America, they would have proved her a bold face liar 6 days ago!

Well that's enough arrogance for today, I need some Maalox to get all that arrogance out of my system.

Mancow gets Waterboarded. WARNING: Graphic Photos!

The lefties are going to have a field day with this one! Mancow, a conservative radio jock from Chicago allowed himself to be waterboarded and of course freaked out after 5 seconds! He then declared waterboarding is torture!

Oh please, can we have a little perspective here? Lets apply a little common sense to waterboarding.
  1. Is Waterboarding scary? Hell yeah! Why bother using it if it wasn't?
  2. Is Waterboarding unpleasant? You betcha! It has to be!
  3. Would I allow myself to be Waterboarded? Hell no! I would scream like a bitch!
  4. Does Waterboarding kill or permanently damage you? Sorry folks, but the answer is no, no, no!

What I would like to know is, what did Mancow get to do for the rest of the day after getting waterboarded? Did he finish his radio show? Did he have a nice lunch at a fancy restaurant? Did he regale his friends with the horror tale of his ordeal over cocktails? Did he bump uglies with Mrs. Cow that night? The answer to all of these questions is; Mancow is alive and well to do anything and everything after his waterboarding, no matter how scary and unpleasant the ordeal was at the time, he is just fine now.

Now let us compare and contrast Mancow's ordeal with the unfortunate folks below. Do you think any these folks would gladly trade their plight for some good old fashion American waterboarding? 'Nuff said!

Obama vs. Cheney

Upon watching today's two speeches, the difference between Obama and Cheney was clear, it was form versus substance. This was evident from just comparing the two venues.

Obama's setting was loaded with imagery designed to give him the gravitas of POTUS. The National Archives with its backdrop of our nation's most sacred documents and his booming voice echoing in the cavernous hall, were all there to give weight to his assertions, half truths and double speak. Now compare and contrast that with Cheney's venue.

Dick Cheney gave his speech at the American Enterprise Institute with a simple white and grey logo covered wall as a backdrop. His only aids were his raspy voice and prepared text. Yet, it was the words of that text that has set the liberal world reeling and has ignited the conservative base once again. This is because the words from that text carried with them the weight of common sense and honesty.

We continue to see more form versus substance in the fact that Cheney's speech was scheduled way in advance of Obama's. Obama only recently changed the date to match Cheney's. Despite the differences in time, Cheney's speech answered all of Obama's criticisms. This being the result of a man who knows what he is talking about and who has full command of the issue at hand. From Obama's first criticism of the Bush Administration, Cheney had an answer:

Obama: Unfortunately, faced with an uncertain threat, our government made a series of hasty decisions. I believe that many of
these decisions were motivated by a sincere desire to protect the American people. But I also believe that all too often our government made decisions based on fear rather than foresight; that all too often our government trimmed facts and evidence to fit ideological predispositions. Instead of strategically applying our power and our principles, too often we set those principles aside as luxuries that we could no longer afford. And during this season of fear, too many of us -- Democrats and Republicans, politicians, journalists, and citizens - fell silent.

Cheney: ... And when he faults or mischaracterizes the national security decisions we made in the Bush years, he deserves an answer. The point is not to look backward. Now and for years to come, a lot rides on our President’s understanding of the security policies that preceded him. And whatever choices he makes concerning the defense of this country, those choices should not be
based on slogans and campaign rhetoric, but on a truthful telling of history.

The other thing that stuck out to me about both speeches was that the question of the effectiveness of Enhanced Interrogation Techniques is unanswered. Obama makes the assertion that they are ineffective but offers no proof to back it up:

Obama: I know some have argued that brutal methods like waterboarding were necessary to keep us safe. I could not disagree more. As Commander-in-Chief, I see the intelligence. I bear the responsibility for keeping this country safe. And I categorically reject the assertion that these are the most effective means of interrogation...
Cheney on the other hand, makes asking for this information an important part of his speech:

Cheney: Yet somehow, when the soul-searching was done and the veil was lifted on the policies of the Bush administration, the public was given less than half the truth. The released memos were carefully redacted to leave out references to what our government learned through the methods in question. Other memos, laying out specific terrorist plots that were averted, apparently were not even considered for release. For reasons the administration has yet to explain, they believe the public has a right to know the method of the questions, but not the content of the answers.

Without the answer to whether or not EITs worked or not, the subject is open to debate and conjecture. Clearly, the Obama administration doesn't want us to know that answer for sure, because there is probably good reason to believe it does not help his argument. We can safely draw that conclusion because if there was no harm in releasing the memo detailing the techniques we use, then what is the harm in releasing the results?

I was particularly galled by this statement in Obama's speech:

Obama: ... We're cleaning up something that is, quite simply, a mess -- a misguided experiment that has left in its wake a flood of legal challenges that my administration is forced to deal with on a constant, almost daily basis, and it consumes the time of government officials whose time should be spent on better protecting our country.
What I find so galling about this statement is the fact that it was Obama and the Democrats who created the situation themselves. It was their politicizing of the entire Gitmo issue in order to score points against Bush that created this "mess". It was the left that insisted that massive torture was going on there, it was the left that has brought all the legal challenges, it was the left demands the place to be shut down, it is the left that are trying to give the Gitmo prisoners our Constitutional rights and it is the left who wants to try the Gitmo prisoners in the American court system. Mind you, Democrats were all in for creating Gitmo and using EITs in the beginning, it wasn't until they were desperate to discredit the Bush Administration that they all of a sudden found faults.

In the end Obama and the Democrats have created their own problem. It is a problem that has the ability to split their party and or completely discredit them in the eyes of Americans as far as national security is concerned. This is why Republicans need to push hard for the release of the memos Cheney requested. It will help to bring more fair minded people to the side of the GOP and help to further the rift in the Democratic party. If Michael Steels' words the other day have any weight behind them, then he should start rallying Republicans to Cheney's cause.

Finally some thought about Dick Cheney. You have to admire him for standing up against the on coming onslaught the left will no doubt launch against him. He has put the great Obama on the defense on the national security issue. He galls the Democrats for refusing to stay vanquished and discredited. CNN's own polls show he is making a comeback. He even exposed their childish and foolish ways:

Cheney: Behind the overwrought reaction to enhanced interrogations is a broader misconception about the threats that still
face our country. You can sense the problem in the emergence of euphemisms that strive to put an imaginary distance between the American people and the terrorist enemy. Apparently using the term “war” where terrorists are concerned is starting to feel a bit dated. So henceforth we’re advised by the administration to think of the fight against terrorists as, quote, “Overseas contingency operations.” In the event of another terrorist attack on America, the Homeland Security Department assures us it will be ready for this, quote, “man-made disaster” – never mind that the whole Department was created for the purpose of protecting Americans from terrorist attack.

And when you hear that there are no more, quote, “enemy combatants,” as there were back in the days of that scary war on terror, at first that sounds like progress. The only problem is that the phrase is gone, but the same assortment of killers and would-be mass murderers are still there. And finding some less judgmental or
more pleasant-sounding name for terrorists doesn’t change what they are – or what they would do if we let them loose.

Cheney's sober speech showed us what was missing these last 100+ days and that is a certain level of maturity. There has been a complete lack of "grown ups" since January 20th. Instead we are treated to childish things like the blame game, flimsy excuses for unsuitable cabinet members, unsubstantiated assertions, rosy images pasted over bad situations and arrogance by the truck load.

Marco Rubio: This is the type of senator we need!

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has endorsed Florida Governor Charlie Crist for the 2010 Florida US Senatorial race. Marco Rubio is the guy Crist will be running against in the Republican primaries. I have one question for the NRSC, .... ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR @#$%ING MINDS?!? Charlie Crist supported the Stimulus Package! This is the same mush headed thinking from the Republican leadership that gave us John McCain in 2008.

Watch the two videos below. If you like what you see, then support Rubio and send a clear message to the NRSC that you do not support their ideas of what they think a Republican ought to be. Join the Not One Red Cent movement. The Republican leadership takes the base for granted. They use our money, our leg work and our vote, but completely ignore our issues and beliefs. The only way to get their undivided attention is to hit them in the pocketbook.

I for one would much rather go down in flames (doubt it) supporting a candidate who supported my beliefs, than waste my time supporting yet another RINO. I want candidates who stand in bold and stark contrast to the governing class of tax and spend elitists now infesting Washington. We will never get back to a government that is for the people and by the people without electing REAL PEOPLE, and Marco Rubio sounds like real people to me!

Steele Shows Some Steel! UPDATED

Well it is about time my brother! Why has it taken so long to call out Obama? Heck, he showed his socialist behind from the get go, so why bother with all the niceties? Steele, hit many of the things that the base has been saying since January. While I am inspired by his words, it is the deeds that I will have to keep my eyes on. If Michael Steele wants to successfully take on Obama, he is going to have to start making clones of this guy:

UPDATE

Sarah Palin Comes Out Swinging

It appears that Palin was listening when Steele said we are going to take the fight to the Democrats. Given the absolute torture the left is slinging at Palin, you would think she would lay low. Instead she is full of fight. This woman has bigger cajones than many of her male counterparts in DC!

From SarahPac:

Statement from Governor Sarah Palin

The transition from Candidate Obama to President Obama has been as predictable as Alaska's winter snow.

We are now witnessing actions that will lead to a monumental shift away from free market capitalism and the strong work ethic that built this great country. 'Change' in this administration has meant rapid movement toward massive government growth, huge tax burdens on future generations, and an unprecedented reliance upon foreign countries.

Today, we learned that Obama’s decisions continue to impact Alaskans; while we as taxpayers now own General Motors, Obama closes another dealership – this time in Soldotna as more of Alaskans’ hard-earned money and jobs are lost to big government. Government should not be in the auto industry business. In Alaska, we have also seen a shift in federal priorities that threaten the loss of subsidized village health care services under the same candidate who led you to believe he'd insure all Americans. The inconsistent messages and actions are unsettling.

But we have another voice in Washington, DC – a man who understands what Alaskans believe: less centralized government control, restrained budgets, more opportunity for development, and fewer taxes. Today, we have a friend in RNC Chairman Michael Steele and his bold and courageous speech defines his leadership goals that will guide us all through this most difficult time for our nation.”

Order of Succession: After Obama it gets worse!

After last week's Liarfest by Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden's spilling the beans over the secret bunker, I was left with the realization that America has no credible successors should Obama be unable to complete his time in office. Really, both Biden and Pelosi have proven themselves to be completely unacceptable for the presidency. This got me thinking about the order of presidential succession. Here is what we currently have to work with after Obama.

1. Joe Biden, Vice President: This chronic sufferer of verbal diarrhea would immediately step into Obama's shoes. As we all know, Joe Biden's mouth is usually light years ahead of his brain. As such we have been treated to some shockingly stupid statements.

After being chosen by Obama as his running mate, Biden said this:

How right you are Joe! From his plagiarizing past to scaring people over Swine Flu to revealing the location of the secret bunker, Biden has proven time and time again that he lacks the smarts to be President.

Obama only chose him because, he felt he needed someone with strong foreign affair experience. Even on this count, Biden is a dim bulb. In 2001 shortly after the 9/11 attacks, Old Joe wanted to give Iran $200 million, gratis! I wonder how many centrifuges that would have bought?

Should Biden become President, we all need to pray that he choose a Vice President who is far more capable than himself.

2. Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House: After Nancy's disastrous week, the mask is off. We can now see her for what she truly is, a lying party hack! This is a woman who is willing to put her party and herself over national security. This is a woman who would rather us believe an entire agency of the government is lying, then to believe that she has been lying all along. With all the dangers facing our nation, it would be an absolute catastrophe to have such a devious liar running the show. I can think of two incidents where Pelosi went abroad and came back with a completely different story than what went down. Remember her meeting with the Pope this year? She made it sound like they had tea and crumpets, the Vatican said she got a lecture on supporting abortion! Also recall Pelosi's trip to Syria (why did we pay for that?). She came back saying how Syria was ready for peace! Meanwhile, Syria said no such thing of the kind!

Lucky for us, the only way Nancy could become president would be for both Obama and Biden to be out of office roughly at the same time. Otherwise, Biden gets to pick a new VP (as per the 25th Amendment) and the process of succession starts all over again. Whew!

3. Robert Byrd President pro tempore of the Senate: The irony of this choice makes me laugh. Democrats love to scare black people into thinking that electing a Republican as president is like electing a Klansman. Meanwhile, that is exactly what they would get should DEMOCRAT Robert Byrd ever become president! At 92, and looking ever bit of it, Byrd would need a very young and health VP!

4. Hillary Rodham Clinton Secretary of State: I never thought I would say this, but out of all the Democrats listed so far, Hillary makes me cringe the least. Make no mistake, Hillary is an ideologue, however she is a self serving ideologue. Hillary is a poll watcher. If a wacko left wing policy was a stinker at the polls, there is very little chance Hillary would stick her neck out to support it. Look at Hillary's support of the Iraq war prior to the Dem primaries. It cost her dearly, but had Obama not emerged and she got the nomination, she would have been riding high in the general election because of it. If Hillary were president today, I doubt she would have signed that Stimulus package or voted for any of the TARP, it would have been far too risky for her legacy.

5. Timothy Geithner Secretary of Treasury: Mr. Tax cheat numero uno! I would not trust this man as far as I could throw him. When I listen to his nonsense on the economy, systemic risk, stress test and so forth, I have no idea whether he is saying this stuff out of his understanding of the whole economic process or is he just mouthing crap that was told to him by Rahm Emanuel? At any rate, Geithner does not inspire confidence in the least bit.

6. Robert Gates Secretary of Defense: Full disclosure time, I have actually met Robert Gates. I met him at a charity event in NYC. What I found impressive was that he accepted invitation to the event prior to becoming Bush's Secretary of Defense and kept the appointment anyway, even when everyone would have understood his dropping out. With that said, I am beginning to wonder about Gates. His easy acceptance of Obama's defense cuts, when the world is so dangerous and the Democrats are spending money on any and everything else. How come no major fight? How come Gates could not ask Obama, why is he giving billions to ACORN and but cutting billions from defense? Sounds like something a follower does not a leader.

7. Eric Holder Attorney General: Don't you feel safer already? This "BRAVE" man leading us poor cowards. I think the next time Eric Holder wants to call out cowards, he might want to try using a mirror. He did not have much courage to admit he doesn't know jack about torture. Methinks we have another party hack here who only knows how to singing the party line.

From here on out, the list of succession is still abysmal, with more party hacks and tax cheats. Queen of the Clowns, Janet Napolitano brings up the rear.

8. Ken Salazr Secretary of the Interior

9. Tom Vilsack Secretary of Agriculture

10. Gary Locke, Secretary of Commerce

11. Hilda Solis Secretary of Laor - Tax Cheat #4.

12. Kathleen Sebelius Secretary of Health and Human Services - Tax Cheat #6.

13. Shaun Donovan Secretary of Housing of Urban Development

14. Ray LaHood Secretary of Transportation - Republican.

15. Steven Chiu Secretary of Energy

16. Arnie Duncan Secretary of Education - Obama's friend from Chicago.

17. Eric Shinseki Secretary of Veteran Affairs

18. Janet Napolitano Secretary of Homeland Security - Clown

Must See Videos

These are two very powerful videos I ran across on other blogs. The first one How To Brainwash A Nation, I first found on Conservative Black Woman's blog. She has the transcript there if you find Russian man a little difficult to understand. After watching this video, I felt I finally understood why so many liberals ignore the failure of their ideas even when the facts are staring them right in their face. My advice, make sure high school and college age children watch and understand this one. It will help them to combat the indoctrination they will face at college.

The next video I found today at MAinfo's blog. It is the best description of our Constitutional Republic I have seen. It explains how and why America is not a democracy as so many people mistake it as. It also explains why as we move more and more towards a democracy, we risk losing all our freedoms all together. Again, share with your children, help them to understand their government before, their heads are stuffed with left wing mush from public school.

Finally, for those who missed it, here is the Make Mine Freedom video, I posted two weeks ago.

Drive by bloggin'! When you don't have time to really blog.

Sorry folks, but the last couple of days, have had me swamped! Between work and social engagements I have been putting off blogging about so many topics. So, rather than let them pass without comment, I am going do a "drive by' on each one and give quick thoughts. So, buck up those seat belts and get ready for the ride.

Obama and Notre Dame

The blame lies clearly with Notre Dame. They never should have extended the invitation to Obama. Their reason of it's tradition to invite the president is BS. What about the tradition of Catholics standing up for life? Had Notre Dame not invited Obama, they could have opened the dialogue of why is that Obama's actions do not match his words on abortion? If the Catholic church wants to regain its authority in the world it should start by living up to its own standards. e.g. no passes for politicians who support abortion!

Biden and the secret bunker

For the love of God, when will this man STFU? The worse thing about Joe Biden's verbal diarrhea is that it is the kind that has ZERO thought behind it. He just opens his mouth and it just keeps running. My advice to Biden is that he needs to follow Obama. Use lots of "umms", this will give him time to THINK before he speaks. Also, use a teleprompter whenever and wherever he can. Just make sure he uses his own damn words! Look for an up coming post about Biden and Pelosi titled: We Have No Back Ups!

Maureen Dowd: Plagiarizer

Maureen Dowd clearly has some writing skills. If you ever read some of her earlier stuff (now I wonder if it really was her stuff) you can see she knows how to string a word or two together. However, Dowd, allowed herself to become a lazy hack. By putting pretty words to empty leftwing talking points, Dowd cheapens her craft. By stealing the words of Talking Points Memo blogger John Marshall, Dowd has sunk to a new low. My advice to Down, take a sabbatical. During that time, she should read only hard news and eschew opinion pieces. Then she should formulate her own opinions rather than recycled or stolen leftwing talking points. A fresh and new perspective coupled with her writing skills will put her on top of the game. Without this Dowd is rapidly headed to the trash can of over rated hacks relying on yesterday's laurels. BTW: did you know Dowd, skewered Biden over his plagiarism? Talk about coming full circle!

Sarah Palin's book deal

Sarah Palin has a book deal with Harper Collins. Lefties are already trying to poop on it. They are saying she will need a ghostwriter and it won't sell. Oh, please. Tons of folks use a ghostwriter, Hillary and Bill did. It is suspected that Bill Ayers is Obama's ghost writer for Dreams From My Father. So file that argument under NONSENSE. Regarding Palin's book not being successful, that has to be the stupidest thing I ever heard. That book is going to sell, sell, sell! Palin lovers will snap it up because they cannot get enough of this great lady. Those on the fence will buy it to see what they think for themselves. Palin haters will buy it, to comb through it for new attacks. BTW: file this as another sign that Palin is running in 2012!

Gallop: Americans More Pro-Life than Pro-Choice

Well looky, looky! Gallop reports that Americans are now more Pro-Life than Pro-Choice for the first time. Isn't if funny that at a time when both RINOs and Liberals are telling us to abandon social conservatism for "moderate" (read liberal) views, here comes Gallop to tell us that America is now trending Pro-Life. Also, if you remember I reported that Gallop also said that Americans are also now heavily anti gun control. So if the nation is actually trending towards our side on two major social issues, why the hell should we embrace NRSC's point of view? I say we should the Not One Red Cent movement and clean house of these foolish RINOs.
